3rd Grade Teacher
I graduated from Livingston High School in 2005 and went on to get my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2009. I received my EC-4 Certification from Texas Teachers in the summer of 2009.
This is my second year teaching at Cedar Grove Elementary. However, this will be my 6th year teaching with LISD. I am currently teaching 3rd grade English & Language Arts and Social Studies.
My first year teaching was back in 2009 after college graduation. I got a 2nd grade Math position at Timber Creek Elementary. I married that spring and took off one year after that to stay home with my newborn daughter. I came back for the 2011-2012 school year to teach 4th grade Writing at Livingston Intermediate, as there were no available positions at my home campus TCE. The following year a first grade position came open at Timber Creek, and I immediately applied. Fortunately, I was chosen for the job and taught first graders for two years. I gave birth to my 2nd daughter in the spring of 2014 and subsequently lost my mother to breast cancer 12 days later. After much prayer and thought, I decided it was best to stay home and take over my mother’s clerical position for my parents’ family business. In the spring of 2016, I began to strongly feel pulled back toward the world of education and jumped at the opportunity to apply for a third grade position at Cedar Grove, as that is where my oldest attends school. I was grateful to receive the phone call telling me I got the job and haven’t looked back since!
I have been married to Craig Jones since 2010. He is also a former Livingston High School and Texas A&M graduate, as well as a volunteer firefighter here in Livingston, logger and real estate agent. We have two precious daughters: Lexi & Lizzy. Lexi is a second grader here at Cedar Grove, and Lizzy is still in daycare. We have a golden retriever named Cooper and two cats: Twilight Sparkle & Candy :).
